His record at East was winning 2 UpState 8 crowns; a number of regionals - placed 3rd and 4th in the State - He had 10 state placewinners and l Champion. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1988.
2. Louis Reed, Joliet Central All Stater in the 70’s ;;has been named President of the Board of Aldermen for the City of St. Louis. He is one of a group of 3 charged with reorganizing the St. Louis School System and controls a 800 million dollar budget. He Wrestled for Mac McLaughlin.
3. Eric Juergens a 4 time All American from the University of Iowa has been named the new Head Coach at Augustana College. He succeeds Pat Marsh who will be the City Manager in Monroe, Wisconsin. Pat had a good career at Auggie winning 3 Conference Crowns.

17. Sectional assignments are out, but not the teams - Regionals at East Aurora, Lake Park, Romeoville and South Elgin will be at Naperville North for the individuals and at Glenbard North for the Teams. Now the guess work starts - It looks like to me that Carl Sandburg will go elsehere this year, but Montini and Glenbard North could be in the same tournaments, but I would not leave Wheaton North out of this mix at all.
18, It looks like Evergreen Park and Harvard will both move up to Class AA - there may be others and if there are it is high time that we readdress the possibility of 3 classes - its time.
19. Peter Hume a Canadian National Wrestling Champion has died at age 54. He was champion in the super heavyweight division in 1977-78 for Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. He was 6 foot 6 inches. He also played football there. I do not know how he did in the Internation scene.
